SCI (Service
Civil International) holds that living and working together with people
of different backgrounds helps to break down barriers and prejudices worldwide. The
opportunity allows the volunteer to experience a world of mutual respect and
understanding. In this sense, volunteering can be seen as a way of life -
a demonstration of the possible reality of a peaceful and cooperative world. To

Freunde
(Freunde der Erziehungskunst Rudolf Steiners e.V.) is a German
volunteer placement organization
that facilitates young men interested in
fulfilling their military service requirement through civil service in volunteering
in a lifesharing home. To learn more about Freunde please visit freunde-waldorf.de.
Volunteers come
for a variety of personal reasons. Most come to live and work with people with
special needs, experience the ideal in performing a service, and experience
living in community. They form lifelong relationships and we expand our circle
of support. Lifesharing is not only enhanced by the people who volunteer, it is
made possible.
